Jessica Ann Simpson Johnson, born on July 10, 1980, is an American actress, singer, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. After performing in churches as a kid, Simpson signed with Columbia Records in 1997, when she was seventeen. Sweet Kisses (1999), her debut album, was sold 2 million copies in the United States. The lead single "I I Want To Love You Forever" was a commercial hit. Simpson changed her image for her sophomore album, Irresistible (2001), and the album's title track was her second highest-rated entry on the Billboard Hot 100, while the album was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). In This Skin (2003), Simpson's third studio album which sold 3 million copies in the United States. In the beginning of her professional career, Simpson became known for her relationship with and later wedding to Nick Lachey and Nick Lachey, with whom she also appeared on MTV reality show Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica between 2003 between 2003 and 2005. Simpson made her film debut on The Dukes of Hazzard (2006) as Daisy Duke after the release of ReJoyce The Christmas Album (2004). The film's soundtrack also featured a cover of "These boots are made for walking". In 2006, she released her fifth studio album A Public Affair. She also appeared in the romantic comedy film The Employee of the Month. Simpson began to move into country music after the release of her sixth studio album, Do You Know (2008). Alongside her musical pursuits, Simpson launched The Jessica Simpson Collection in 2005, a style-focused collection that includes 34 categories of products. It's the most profitable known brand licensed by a celebrity with more than $1 billion in sales so far. She also starred on the reality show The Price of Beauty in 2010 and was judged on fashion trends on two seasons of Fashion Star between 2012 and 2013. Simpson is married to Eric Johnson and has three children.
