Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe came from a multi-cultural household. She was born within South London. She has a mother who is English and her father Nigerian. Her family was raised in a council estate located south of London. In the ages of 14she enrolled in The Brit School. In London, she studied at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art where her acting certificate was earned. While at the school, she was a part-time actor in several performances on stage, such as King Henry V playing Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights portraying Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe got her start in acting through a short film called Storm Damage. In the years since, she's had guest appearances for Teachers, Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's debut film appearance was in Woody Allen's 2007 Cassandra's Dream opposite Colin Farrell, Ewan McGregor. Following this acclaim, she was cast as Elisha in the BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN and appeared for six seasons Trexx and Flipside. In 2008, she had the opportunity to play the role as Bambi in the ITV2 show drama Secret Diary of a Call Girl which aired in series two and three. Madekwe was a star in the comedy of 2008 How to Alienate and Lose Friends. Some of her theatre credits are Little Sweet Thing (by Roy Williams) as well as Flight Path (by David Watson).
Madekwe was cast as Ashley Davenport on the ABC show The Beautiful Life. The two-episode series aired for just 2 weeks at The CW and then it was cancelled. In February of 2011 she was cast in the role of Ashley Davenport in the ABC drama series Revenge. Madekwe starred as a regular character on the drama series on ABC Revenge in two episodes. The show was announced in May 2013 that she would leave the series after making an appearance in the initial series of the 3rd. She was Tituba in the program Salem in 2014 until. Madekwe was married to her long-time partner, Iddo. They've collaborated in the show Secret Diary of a Call Girl as well as he was a character on the TV series Salem.
Ashley Leggat, an actress nominated twice for the Gemini Award, is a member of the large Hamilton family. Four of her older brothers were also in the family including twins Todd & Bram, Brett & Rob. Ashley was raised in the arenas and baseball fields because her brothers, who were all athletic, played hockey and baseball as well as both during summer and winter. Ashley was unable to walk, but could dance. As a result, at the age of 2 She discovered Baby Ballet. Ashley was hooked on dance immediately. Until she graduated from high school, Ashley danced competitively in the highest divisions of tap, jazz, ballet and pointe as well as acrobatics, musical theatre, lyrical, and hip-hop. In addition, she won the top awards for soloists in every major dance contests, like the International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance among others.
